Why Do You Blog?
It’s a great way to journal and share with others what I read. And, hopefully, I’m influencing others to love reading or to diversify their reading habits.
Other Information About You and Your Blog
I’m a homeschool mom and I’m the assistant editor for an online, spiritual lifestyle magazine. Also, I’m very much into frugality. My blog has a major focus on literary fiction, poetry, and nonfiction written by and/ or about people of color. I do dabble in other genres when something strikes my fancy.

Why Do You Blog?
When I read books I like to reflect and share what I have read. Blogging helps me to stay focused and keep a living journal of my reading. I also get to meet awesome bloggers who do the same. Blogging is one of the best ways I have found to learn about new books to read.

Why Do You Blog?
Initially, because I need some place to put my thoughts down, some place where I can keep track of what I read, and some place where I can write whatever. Later on there are various perks that come with blogging: community, people’s reviews and recommendations, book news, basically anything bookish. (I also wanna say free books, but no, I don’t get many)
Other Information About You and Your Blog
I actually had my personal website many years ago, back when blog wasn’t an existing term. A place where I put down my thoughts and stuff. Years later I created a book site where I tried to collect my reviews of the books I’ve read (it wasn’t so hard because I just started reading English novels a few years back, so the number wasn’t crazy lot). That site was the root that turned to be my book blog today. So how long have I “blogged”? I feel like it’s been forever. But officially my book blog started in 2007, though I had numerous other blogs and websites in the past.

Why Do You Blog?
I started blogging about books as a way to remember what I had read. I also wanted to share interesting information I found on the web with friends and family. I also like the exercise of trying to write. (It’s way more fun than exercising at a gym!)
Other Information About You and Your Blog
My husband and I currently live in Tucson, AZ having come from Madison, WI. I have a library degree but am not working. My husband still teaches periodic law seminars in Madison so we get to go back sometimes which is great – I love Wisconsin! I like nonfiction a lot because I like to add to my education. I probably read more than my share about Lincoln. But I also love children’s books and literary fiction. And we read lots of newspapers and magazines – love that short attention span stuff!

I’m an avid reader and although I love literary fiction, I’m not a snob and will proudly read Twilight in public. I also enjoy memoirs, historical fiction, cooking related books, and writing books.

To interact with like-minded people (read: fellow book Geeks), to be in touch with the bookish world and have access to news, recommendations, etc, and because I really enjoy writing about the books I read.
Other Information About You and Your Blog
I was hesitant about whether to list my blog under “General” or “Sci-fi/Fantasy”. Fantasy is my first love, but I also read and post about other things, so I don’t think my blog is quite a fantasy blog. Fantasy is featured a lot, though, as are comics and graphic novels, YA Fiction, world lit, contemporary fiction, children’s books, and more recently, non-fiction.
